About Fulton

Campus

The Fulton School currently serves students across four counties in the Lake Ray Hubbard community. The campus is located on 16.5 acres in the beautiful rural community of Heath, Texas. The Falcon's Nest houses two kindergarten classes, while Fulton's Lower School building provides spacious classrooms to PreK through 4th grades.

The school maintains its own tennis and basketball court as well as a large football and soccer field. An outdoor commons area provides a beautiful tree-shaded setting for student gatherings and outdoor lunches. Students have access to the new Fulton library where they can check out books by visiting the library or online.

The Board of Trustees has outlined a ten-year development plan that will provide a gymnasium, science building, cafeteria and library, along with additional general classroom space. These plans are currently on schedule.

Enrollment

Students qualify for enrollment based on part or all of the following criteria:

  • personal recommendations from teachers
  • academic achievements at previous schools
  • recommendation from Fulton teacher based on classroom visit
  • admissions testing
  • an interview with the Admission Officer

In all cases, the school retains the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether or not to select a student for admission or to re-enroll a student.

The Fulton School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational practices, admission policies, scholarship, and loan programs, or athletic and other school administered programs. All persons are encouraged to apply.

All information gathered during the admission process is confidential and the sole property of the school.

Contact the school office at (972) 772-4445 to schedule a tour of the school’s classrooms and facilities. Complete an application form and return it along with a non-refundable $75 application fee to: The Fulton School, 1623 Laurence Drive, Heath, TX 75032. If the application is submitted while school is in session, your child will be invited to visit the classroom during the school day for an evaluation by a Fulton teacher.

Parents will be contacted for a visit with an admissions administrator to discuss the standards and requirements of the school. Following the visit, the parents will be notified regarding admission into the school.

Tuition

Tuition costs vary by grade level. Tuition may be paid in full for a discount, or arrangements can be made for 10 monthly payments through FACTS tuition payment plan. Additional fees include: application fee ($75), a tuition deposit, books, activity fee, and fall and spring semester fees. Tuition costs are determined by the Board of Trustees and are subject to change each year.

Governance

The Fulton School is under the governance of a Board of Trustees who oversees the physical and financial growth of the school. These board members, who meet monthly, represent some of Heath and Rockwall’s most prominent community leaders. The board hires the Head of School who is, in turn, responsible for hiring teachers and administrators, overseeing curriculum, student development and discipline, finances, recruiting, along with the day-to-day activities of the school.

Dress

The Fulton School is proud of its students and the identity they carry with them when they wear their school uniform. Uniforms set students apart and identify them as members of a distinguished college preparatory learning institution. The Fulton School has high expectations of its students and requires that they look and behave in a manner that maintains and represents the integrity of their school. Experience tells us that when students are required to look and behave their best, they will hold learning as a high priority as well.

These uniforms:

  • Are identifiers of the school and should be worn appropriately and with pride.
  • Allow students to concentrate on studies rather than on the latest fashion and, thus, eliminate this visual distraction at school.
  • Prevent students from making distinctions between students according to family wealth.
  • Clarify any questions of appropriate/inappropriate attire for school.

P.A.T

Parent And Teacher Association (P.A.T.)

Each Fulton parent is a member of the P.A.T. by virtue of their child’s enrollment in the school. This organization offers support to the school’s students and faculty by means of fund-raising events and volunteer work throughout the year. Parent volunteers are the backbone of the school, providing the essential tools for teachers and students as they work to accomplish their goals.

There are many ways that parents can contribute to the Fulton School. Volunteers are involved in every aspect of the school – from helping out in the office and working with students in a class to organizing classroom and school-wide events. Every parent is asked to be an active participant of the Fulton School. Whether this participation comes in the form of time volunteering on campus, helping with projects from home or monetary support, all efforts are appreciated and add to the overall experience for each child at Fulton.

Here are just a few of the major events that PAT organizes each year:
Back to School Picnic
Fall Carnival
Class Parties
Spring Gala

Parents are encouraged to contact the Fulton office: 972-772-4445 for further information on current volunteer opportunities.
